| Just got up an hour early to cash my $474 paycheck. Went to Regions to cash and then deposit it, as I do every pay period. I do this because it gives me immediate access to my money. Upon requesting that they cash and then deposit the check, they say "Sure. As always." After not finding my account--due to ineptitude--they deposit my check. Deposit the check, NOT cash and then Deposit. I inform them they made a misake. "Oh, no. We are not permitted to do that anymore. We can only deposit check directly." Being accustomed to being routinely fucked over by Regions, and previously BoA, I take this in stride. Well, can I have my money back? No. But I have to pay my electric bill, like right now. That and eat and get tickets for the Pietaster show saturday. No. What's done is done. But you lied to me. You said sure and I wasn't informed that your policy changed. Oh well, sorry for your inconvenience. So essentially you bold-faced lied to me in order to steal my entire paycheck. Well, they say, I should have access to the money at midnight tonite. This happens to be another lie, because on two seperate ocassions when depositing a check on friday, before 3pm mind you, my account didn't recieve the money until WEDNESDAY the following week. This means I am flat broke until the middle of next week. Is anyone else just fed up with banks outright stealing their money? Overdraft fees, inaccurate bank statements, numerous errors, instaneous policy changes? How much abuse can a corporate entity get away with before the people revolt? Anyhoo, fuck banks. They are the only business, aside from insurance companies, that made a killing during the recession. And we still had to bail them out, twice. Fuck them. |

| I hate them and I don't even have an account there. They treat me like a criminal and charge me 7 bucks to cash a check that's drawn on their bank. Guess they can do no wrong. |

Why go to Regions to cash a check drawn on one of their accounts? If you don't want to pay a fee, deposit it to your account. If you need the funds immediately, then you will have to pay a fee (to Regions, Walmart, check cashing place, etc) for the convenience of getting cash immediately without waiting for it to clear.
This isn't a Regions policy. While I'm no fan of Regions, this is very much industry wide - even multi-industry |
