The company that I work for uses Regions for their payroll. Not that it matters, but I work for a small company with about 50 employees. I have a regions checking account. I usually deposit my paycheck around noon on Thursday. I do not see my deposit added to my account until the following Monday at the earliest. My last paycheck wasn't credited to my account until the following Tuesday.

Question #1 - Why does it take that long to credit my account when my payroll check is written on a Regions account.

Question #2 - If I were to overdraw my account while my paycheck deposit was in Regions induced limbo, would I be charged NSF fees?

Thanks for any replies.

I suspect that whomever is processing your deposit is not paying enough attention to know that it is a Regions check. Some of my coworkers are less than capable of paying attention to those very important details. Make sure you call it to the attention of the person who is processing your deposit. Tell them you want it processed as a transfer of funds from their account to yours. It will be immediate. You should have to ask for a receipt (system doesn't automatically generate one) ... and the receipt should NOT look like a standard CHK DEP... it should look significantly different. Plus - when you call the 800 number or check online - your balance should have increased by the amount of your paycheck immediately.
