| Can anyone explain the difference between a branch assistant and a assistant branch manager (ABM)? Is there a pay difference. I was told an ABM makes slightly more than an FSS...around $35K. Also, I am not sure what it takes to get a promotion to an ABM. They say it has to do with amount of FTE or volume. But clearly people in my area have been promoted to ABM from an FSS with little experience simply because they had good annuity sales even if they were lacking in other areas....thoughts??? |

| I am a former Regions ABM from the STL area. The position is rarely used and usually means you are qualified to be a Branch Manager, but the "right branch" isn't available for you just yet. Unfortunately, you're right about one thing... annuity sales are all this company gives a rat's ass about. Being an actual Banker who makes quality recommendations to your customers and does the right thing doesn't get you anywhere. So, as long as you can live with giving people bad investment advice and telling a lot of half-truths, moving from FSS to ABM should be relatively easy. By the way, ask for way more than $35K. They'll pay you over $40K if you know how to negotiate. Or, better yet... find a more reputable bank to work for and you won't have to worry about looking for a new job when this POS company gets taken over by the Feds.
