Former Regionite Manager

I worked for Regions Bank for 2 years. I came from another banking institution. I started as an FSS and got promoted to Branch Manager shortly after starting with the company. I was let go earlier this year for breaking a policy. A policy that I didnt even know existed or would apply to me. I was let go with a whim. I was never written up with the company at all. I was denied unemployment with the company and for about a month had to ask my parents to help me pay the mortgage. Shortly thereafter, I received a check in the mail. I got paid a bonus from the company for making our 5th Quarter Teamworks goal in 2008. The company only pays employees bonuses who are in good standing with the bank. So...the company paid me a bonus, which helped me pay my bills recently, but continued to deny me unemployment compensation. I went to the first appeal, and my former manager came and fought me to the death it seemed. I got an attorney and went on to a second appeal, and I lost. I am thankful the company paid me a bonus, but it is sort of two-faced...because they fought me on the unemployment. I only wanted that long enough to find a new job to feed my family. It has been a long journey, and interview after interview I had to say that I was fired from the company, it has nearly been impossible to find a new job. Luckily i had a conection or two and I got a job with the government. I am out of banking now for good i guess. I probably will never be able to get a banking job again now.

My attorney shredded through the policy and couldnt find a good reason why regions should have fired me, or have denied me unemployment. but either way, through a loophole i guess, we lost.

I was fired because I did not catch a mistake a teller had made at my branch. The mistake was cleared up the next day, but I was written up and fired. The teller did not lose her job. I do not even think she was written up. My wife was 8 months pregnant and I was denied unemployment. Regions managers and HR are heartless and will turn on you in a minute.

I so feel both of your posts. Regions fired me and denied my unemployment also but needless to say me and my family made it through and you're right, they are heartless.

I feel your pain I got written up for a nonexsistant police also. I can say this the manager that did that to me is no longer with the company either because he broke a real police he was having an affair on company time with a CSM. To show the you the kind of people Regions employes my manager was having an affair with another Regions employee while his wife was pregant with their child.
