The practice used to be that Regions Bank would pay an associate for the last two weeks of pay when that associate resigned if going to another bank in the same market or ask that associate to work their two weeks notice. When I resigned from Regions Bank in April 2008 I was told by an HR manager and a Senior CSM that they were not sure what they wanted me to do and that I needed to wait for further instruction and go back to my branch. I did so. The next day they announced to everyone that I was no longer the branch manager and that my assistant was going to be. I was excited for him. At this point I still had not heard when my last day would be. Then on the following day I was at my office trying to help out with lobby customers and I got a phone call from the City President. He asked me what I was doing and I told him helping a customer. He asked me to come see him at his office, which was about two miles away. I went and saw him and he asked me why I was at the bank. I told him that I had resigned on a Monday and was waiting for further instruction from HR and the Senior CSM. He told me that today (Wednesday) would be my last day and I said that is fine with me I just wanted to be fair with Regions since they had been good to me. He apoligized that I did not get a call from HR or the Senior CSM and that they had decided I would not need to work my two weeks notice. So I left. On my next paycheck from Regions which would be my last I thought that I would be paid for two weeks. I was not. So I called HR and was told that the company policy had changed. Ironically another associate who had recently resigned got paid for their two weeks noticed when they did not make them work it. Needless to say I was at one time a Regions customer, associate, and stockholder. Now I am a Regions customer simply due to the fact that they have ATM's and branches everywhere when I travel. I do not keep more than a few hundred dollards there and would have cancelled my credit card except for the fact it is really with FIA not Regions Bank. I additionally moved my personal brokerage account away from Regions Bank. Now I use another bank besides the one I work for my personal banking needs. The bank I work for now is a great place and better run than Regions, but I have learned the lesson of not putting all your eggs in one basket. For those still at Regions I feel sorry for you. I was cherry picked away from Regions by one of my former Region's managers. We have additionally hired away three more very competent bankers. Most of the talent it seems has left.

Also, the reason I put in my two weeks notice was because I was dealing with a tough situation at home and didn't have the time, energy, or desire to work full time and was coming in late. My manager warned me multiple times that I'd lose my job if I did not start coming in on time so I just beat 'em to the punch and kept my resume clear of any firings.
